Bumble bees are large, hairy bees. They live in hives with several hundreds of bumble bees in a colony. Like regular bees, Bumble bees are pollinators and keep themselves busy flying from one flower to another. Bumble bees are not generally considered a pest. On the contrary, as pollinators they are considered beneficial insects. They rarely set up their hives anywhere near human habitat. Although they do have a sting, they are usually docile and will only attack if they feel their hive is under threat.
The difference in the Bumble bee and the Honeybee is that the Bumble bee has a longer tongue to fetch nectar from the plants and flowers.
