Ant Baits

Ant Baits are really the most effective way to rid your home of problem ants. Unlike aerosol sprays, ant baits work with less mess and less fuss. The bait is set out to attract the worker ants. The worker ants busily raid the bait and take it back to the nest depositing it inside. In a matter of weeks, the entire ant colony is dead.

Not all ant bait can control ant colonies. It is entirely dependent on what type of ant you are targeting, and what type of bait you will use. The ants that are easiest to target with ant bait, are the ants that are after the sweets in your home. You can sweeten the kill by sprinkling the bait with powdered sugar or granulated sugar.

The same goes with the ants that subsist on greasy foods. You can spread bacon grease with the bait to attract the ants quicker but know that when you do, the bait becomes less effective and the ants will stay alive longer.

Ant colonies that can be bait controlled-

Argentine Ants
House Ants
Pavement Ants
Honey Ants
Small Black Ants
Large-headed Ants
Pharoah Ants

Be sure that you are tucking the bait away in corners. If you have small pets remove the pets from the area where the bait is being placed for your pet's protection. The bait, though slow-acting, is still a poison.
