The Basic Country Skills serves not only as a bang up read concerning every element of living on one’s own, it also offers some very cool solutions to pest control problems. Written for the apprentice farmer, issues such as critters like skunks, rats, rabbits, deer and other garden-threatening animals are interspersed with a few topical recommendations for poreventing rampant mosquito populations, along with aphids, beetles and any number of infestations. I like the book because of its general information. Many users rave about all the relevant information regarding the myriad other issues, from actually acquiring land to building fences and gates and where and why to do so. I’m a sucker for a good read and this one is pretty encyclopedic. Pretty fun and informative.
